Woven Textiles Designer

Weaving tradition with contemporary design, I create bespoke handwoven fabrics with a modern, vibrant twist. Technique, material and colour are combined to produce high quality, unique cloth for fashion and interiors.

My training began at Loughborough University where I completed my foundation degree in Art and Design. This then led me to study Textiles at Manchester School of Art where I specialised in weave, graduating with a first class degree in 2014. In 2017, I became a Prince’s Trust supported business.

Now based at Phoenix Craft Studios on the Isles of Scilly, I hand weave on a Louet David 8 shaft floor loom. I am constantly experimenting with different fibres, patterns and colours as subtle changes to any of these factors can make a huge difference to the cloth.

Inspiration for my fabrics currently comes from the beautiful Scilly seas and landscapes. Drawing, collaging, carefully selecting the appropriate yarn as well as colour palette are essential in the design of my fabrics.
